Dear Marco Island neighbors
I wholeheartedly endorse Teri Sommerfeld for Marco Island City Council.
This summer, we have seen a strong push for large commercial developments designed to bring more tourism to Marco Island. These proposals raise serious concerns about their effects on our environment, roads, infrastructure and the quality of life of those who call Marco home. We need Council members who will consider the long-term consequences and put residents first.
Teri has the experience to do that work. She has spent more than 40 years in healthcare leadership, managing budgets, overseeing complex operations and making decisions that require careful judgment. As a member of the City’s Audit Advisory Committee, she has already shown her willingness to study Marco Island’s finances and take on the difficult, often thankless work of responsible City government.
I support Teri because she is one of the most honest and ethical people I have known. She has no conflicts of interest or hidden agendas. She simply wants to serve her neighbors and keep Marco Island a great place to live. I know she will devote her time, knowledge and skills to addressing the City’s budget problems, protecting our waterways and natural environment, and preserving an exceptional quality of life for Marco residents.
The decisions we make now will shape Marco Island for years to come. Teri will bring sound judgment, integrity and a clear commitment to the long-term well-being of our community. I hope you will join me in voting for her.
